looking to upgrade lighting and noticed the t6 bulbs.whats the deal.t8 or t12 light mod to a t5 ballast and use the rest of the light?i found t6 at 40w.isnt it 54w like the t5s?are they the same output of a t5?i could make this light for 60$ plus lights.please respond soon.im eager.

Will not work for corals..Also T5 and T5HO ( What everyone is lighting their tanks with) are different lighting alltogether. A T5 balast will not drive a T5HO you need to have the proper balast for the rated lamps. I dont think they make T6 lamps in the proper kelvin range for corals either
no you wrong.please research befor answer.stayed up all night and found my answer.it the exact same light with different ends to fit a t8 t12 light.the lights will run at 30w 40w or 54w but your not going to get the brightness without the 54w t-5 ballast.very cool what they come out with huh? by the way pet mountain has lights actinic 100000k.there starting to become more common.

Don't Panic!
T6 is not going to be a worthwhile investment at this time. If you purchase them they will be a disappointment. In this game, you absolutely get what you pay for. Do they come with individual reflectors? If not, they will lose almost all of their effectiveness. I can give you an example, Current makes t5 bulbs that are about half the par as an ATI bulb. If there is that much difference between reputable brands on a proven bulb size, imagine the difference btw those of an inexpensive t6 bulb or fixture.
but the t6 is the same bulb.its just a t5 with bigger connectors to fit t8 and t12 sockets.it can be ran 40w but max out put is with a t5 ballast of 54w.i dont think you get what im talking about.it must be new.i just ran across the.here is a link to them.

ya your right leds are the best idea Ive seen yet if ya know anything about the please answer a few questions for me.
me and an electrician at work are trying to make some leds for my tank and this is the only problem Ive ran across.
"leds don't put out the wide spectrum regular lights do.rather they only put out the spectrum they were made for".that's a quote not a statement.this makes no sense to me.i thought 10000k light put out 10000k.but maybe not.and if this is true is mixing with blue good enough.or are you missing out on some of the red part of the spectrum that corals would require.
