Taboo 210 Build

They soaked for about 2 months with water changes every 2 days before I put them in the tank. Unfortunately, after a year in the tank they kept leaving a film on everything and I had a hard time keeping several things alive. Once I took them out it took the tank about 3 weeks to recover. I'm glad they are gone. I'm happy for anyone who has them successfully, but they just aren't for me. The tank has settled down nicely over all, but I'm starting to have some heat issues with it being such an enclosed space. I put a couple of fans in today for evaporation, and tomorrow I will install a new ventilation system to get the hot/humid air out of the house via the ridge vent.

When I decided to take out the DIY rock and go back to regular LR I surpassed my budget. That added $530 to the total cost. I also spent about $35 on acrylic for my baffles and another $100 on the new skimmer so I didn't end up within budget but I'm still under $2500 and its been up for 2 years now so I'm calling it a win just the same.

Whats the next plan Ray? I didnt realize your tank had been up for 2 years. Man I like that fold-out table...

Today the plan is to vent the tank wall/room/thing to help the fans keep the temp down. Was up to 87 and so far I have it down to 76.... I'm thinking once the Metal Halides kick on it should stay at or under 80 degrees.

Heat is still an issue inside the tank wall. I've hung the light fixture above the tank instead of resting on its legs to get it above the water more and that has helped, but I still have to keep 2 of the doors open in order to keep the temp in there under 80 degrees. I think the next step is to split off of the hvac supply duct that goes to the hall bath and run some conditioned air into the space. I may have to have the system rebalanced, but you never know. I can't say that I particularly care whether my guests are comfortable while on the toilet. I don't want folks hanging out in there anyway right?!?
