Uh Roger, since apparently the 6000s and 6100s are out right now, just how long can an older stream tolerate the "tsunami" mod? Is it a bad idea altogether? Hope you had fun on your trip!
How about just replacing the drivers? Roger might have those in stock. And as far as the Stream itself goes, I think Roger said all it needed was a rubber washer/o-ring of some type.
slice and dice, yeah I suppose...I figure I could recoup some of my cost on the new one by selling the old one though and it might not be that much of a difference though....I would like a stream that was disconnectable from the driver.
They are disconnectable, you just open the driver to pull the plug. The 7240.27 driver includes the little o ring dampner, you just have to take the prop off and install it.
Oh yeah, one other thing Roger, it almost looks like I have it tuned for a double wave. The sides go up the middle goes down, then the reverse. Does that mean it's tuned 2x too fast, or is that just the way it goes? Just curious.
does the wave box stop the pump on the low power setting, or does it just idle it at a low speed!
Just thinking, as if you could drive the external stream on slow and then fast without stopping it, it would have a similar effect in building the wave and would be softer on the pump.
I assume the new driver and o ring are required as the quick stop starts need to be controlled differently.
I've got the worst timing...
I started that original thread on Christmas day and we all know what happened on the 26th. Now I wish I could have thought of some other clever name for it.
Had to look up "uber"...thought you did a typo there for a minute!
You're welcome to come over my place to check-out my reef...I live about 45min from Estes and just a few miles east of Boulder. A friend of mine owns a great shop in CO Springs called Mr. Aqua. One of his tanks is a very impressive 1000 gallon reef. There are also a few good shops in Denver I can turn you on to. There are quite a few "reefers" in the Metro area.
