I have a bunch of fish in hypo. I decided to treat them all when my midas started showing signs of ich. All fish since day one showed some kind of sign but nothing ever progressed. Since my Midas looked like there could be a serious issue, i decided to goahead and treat them all and leave the tank fallow. Now, all perams are in check except for nitrates that are a little high 5.0/10 range, leaning more to the 5.0 range. I did a 3/4% water change today so that should help a lot.
Everyone is doing great except for my YWG. His dorsal fin is all but chewed away and half his tail is gone. I am not sure if this is rot or someone chewing on him. If i was to say that someone is chewing on him, this could make sense since he was trying to swim up the walls. He is now in a holding cup to be safe so that proble, if in fact it is that problem, is solved. Second option would be if it is bacterial. If it is bacterial, what is the best stuff to use in a .09/.10 hypo situation? I see there is stuff that is good for salt water and then there is stuff made for fresh water. I am afraid to try anything in hypo without some feedback. i tried looking for info on google but that was kind of a wash.
Just a FYI, I was going to do a round of Prazi before to make sure there are no flukes, then, follow with a good water change to be finalized by some soothing bacterial application.
Is this a good path to take or should I get the bacterial part taken care of pronto since Prazi takes 5 days to do?
