Taking pics under actinic lights

Anyone have any tips for taking pics with a digital camera under blue actinic lights? Mine always come out blurry

I've found that mounting the camera helps. When I do a close up shot on mine, the camera struggles to focus due to me trying to hold it perfectly still. I also refrain from using my flash.

Good Luck

A tripod for one. How powerful are the atinics? It's probably not enough for a fast shutter speed. That results in "camera shake" which blurs your pictures. If the color is off, you need to find out how to set the white balance. You might ask this in the photography forum for more specific tips.

Our eyes are very adaptable to lighting, we might see actinic as dimmer to our eyes, but the fact is it is A LOT dimmer than MH, Thus requiring a much longer shutter speed that is not handholdable. A tripod helps but moving stuffs like fishes or waving corals will remain blur.
