Tale of two toadstools...

I have two toadstools in my 55 gallon reef. One is doing fine (opens up when the light comes on and seems to be growing). The other one closed up about a week ago and hasn't reopened.
Placement: They were fairly close together, but now are on opposite sides of the tank.
Parameters: All trates, trites and ammonia @ 0
Salinity: 1.024-1.026
PH stays betwen 8.0 and 8.4
Phos: Almost to 0 (I need to buy a better kit)
Have dosed some vinegar to battle my Phosphate/Algae, but haven't added more than 3ml per day.
Lighting: 4 T-5 (2 daylight, 2 actinic)

Any feedback or suggestions?

Give it more than a couple hours between bumps, dude. This sounds like a fairly normal thing for softies and I would only worry if it started to melt.

Soft corals tend to do that. Haven't had my Toadstool do it yet (still rather small) but I've had my largest Kenya Tree take nearly two weeks to come out of its most recent shedding.

On the good side, they tend to hit a growth spurt afterwards.

Also, in the future, if you want that rapid a response you may want to consider Reef Discussion rather then a sub-forum. It is a trade-off. You get more specific responses and it is more likely you'll question will be seen, but the trade-off is that the sub-forums are much slower. Responses here often take closer to a day or so, rather then hours. Reef Discussion is where all the action is, but the trade-off there is that you can easily get lost in the sea of threads constantly forming.

I had one do that for around 9 months. Not sure what was irritating it as it was my only one that was closed. Now it's been nice and open for about a year straight. No idea

Thanks for all of the responses. I will be more patient in the future. It's in my nature to to go go go! :) Too much coffee mixed with my spanish blood. :hammer:

You guys were correct. It shed today and has now reopened. Thanks for the help. Looks like I need to do some more reading on my pets.
