Talk to me About Wrasses

My mystery wrasse is literally about an inch wide. It will eat whatever fits in it's mouth. It likes to take advantage of my scarlet hermits after they have just molted and any small peppermint shrimp that I add to the tank. It get's along fine with my red head solon fairy wrasse and my lubbocks fairy wrasse.

My tank has a canopy with egg crate over it except for a few inches in the front for feeding access.

guess where it will jump!

You will not be able to keep flasher or fairy wrasses with an egg crate top. Just cannot keep them in that way.

eggcrate is not advisable for wrassses.
get those 1/4 nylon netting from BRS.

Watch a mystery wrasse with your shrimp and such, they eat alot and when big enough will chow large shrimp when the shed.

Will the Fairies try to eat shrimp, snails and crabs or do they leave them alone? Especially shrimp... What about the Flasher Wrasse? I've been looking at getting a wrasse or two but my gf has a love affair with my peppermint shrimp, and I think she wants a skunk cleaner shrimp too now. If they killed the shrimp, I would be in the dog house for sure.

You shouldn't have a problem with that.
