I overheard a lfs the other day and they are famous for their bad advice said with confidence (enough to convince most people and make you think again personally even though you know it is rubbish). This week they were claiming that the only reason Tamarins are so hard to keep was that they only ate stomatella snails.

Wow, that is some bad advice.
Worse than that, it is crazy advice.
They also didn't know what a black leopard wrasse was and had it marked as undescribed species, claiming it was a cleaner wrasse species. It was also four times the normal price. The best bit though was as it was "undescribed" it was also "rare" and they'd only had four of them in before. The best bit was there was an adult black peacock in the next tank described as such and they still couldn't figure out it was just a juvi of that.
