Tame my Maroon

I left for the weekend to find two missing fish...my Choris wrasse and an Anthias have disappeared. I think my maroon clown finally stressed them out enough to kill them. My Maroon bites my finger anytime I touch anythig in the tank and she does harass the other fish. Is there anything short of removing her that I can do to help tame her?

NO, but maybe she needs a man in her life.
My boy fish sure like it when I put a girl fish in for him.

my maroon is very tame, but then again his tank mates are a humu trigger and a porc puffer and both are larger then he.

but he does steal food from the humu and can keep it away from him

my maroon clown is same like your. It chased my pair Ocellaris Clownfish jump out of the tank. I want take him out but couldn't. Sorry for your lost. I was lucky, I saw my Ocellaris Clownfish jumping on the floor and put them in my sump. They survice.

fish him out. use a fishing line with a size 12 hook. make sure you clamp down the barb for easy hook removal. his lip wound should heal very fast as long as your water isn't dirty.

I've asked around about trying to pair her (or maybe it's a him). Everyone that I've asked so far says it's extremely difficult to get them to pair and most likely one will kill the other. This is the first thing I've seen with a documented technique.
Thanks Nicole!!
Now I suppose the hardest thing will be to find a LFS with a community Maroon tank. Most that I've seen are seperated.

Pairing maroons *is*very difficult, but John Hardman really knows his stuff. If the technique works for him you at least have a good chance of succeeding.

Get a proven juvenile and eliminate the guesswork - that means captive bred. Send a PM to Morgman and see if he has any baby maroons. (I can never remember which species' he raises.) If he doesn't have any DavidM is in San Diego and he might have some.

2 days before I am to host the SCMAS workshop at my home...

is Reefmeister cleaning and grooming his nice and neat reef tank for everyone to see on Saturday???

HELLLLLLL NO!!! Tore through half my reef, collapsing everything in sight, knocking over all my delicate coral colonies....for what???

TO GET THAT FREAKIN' MENACING MAROON MAGGOT OF SATAN'S SPAWN OUT OF MY GOD D _ _ _ REEF TANK!!!!!
:mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

you....you...(twitch, twitch)..you, have nooooo idea of how much self-discipline it took to not stomp the FREAKIN' life out of that slimy little bastard once I finally netted him! :furious:

"Into the sump you go my little friend. Buh, Bye" :fish1: :wavehand:

I'm...I'm, much.... better now, really :twitch:

Kevin, you seem to have anger issues with your fish. First the lemonpeel, then the maroon. Perhaps you should see a fish relationship therapist about this?

haha that is funny reefmeister...I would get rid of her except it's my girlfriends favorite fish, and you all know how that goes. I'd rather have an angry maroon rather than an angry girlfriend.

I have had a pair for many years now. The female, once a male, I have had at Least 13 years now. 4-5 years ago the female died. After a year, he grew to the size of the previous female. I ended up buying a smaller maroon, about a third the size. Took about a week to two, and they have been a pair since. They are going on over 4 years now.
