I'm wondering if a sailfin, blue hippo, and a scopas(brown) that are already together would work with a powder brown? Lfs just got one in that looks gorgeous and fat.

I'd wait til u get the bigger tank you have 2 brown color tangs already plus 4 tangs in a 4' tank is not ideal.

Yeah, none of those fish are too hard to come by, wait until the new/bigger tank is done and ready.

Not what you want to hear but I agree with the others... wait until the bigger tank is set up.

There will likely be aggression issues so I'd also wait for the upgrade. The blue tang in particular is more prone to ich, especially if stressed.

The blue has been through ick twice and made it through QT both times. Been clean for almost a year now.

What would be the smallest tank these four could work in?

I'd say 180 gallon (6') is the minimum. But I'm sure there are others who would recommend an even bigger tank.

yeah 7' tank is great for those 3. I keep three tangs in a 7' 300g. 180g would be the min for me too. IMO large fish in small tanks don't exhibit the behaviors that make them interesting to watch.

I also passed on the powder brown. After the advice here and looking at it again yesterday I have seen the beginnings of ich.
