Tang Discoloration

I have a Naso tang in hypo quarantine that I purchased about a month ago. He developed like skin discolorations that I don't know what it is. they are not raised and hold no pattern. He seems healthy otherwise and eats like a pig. I have attached two pictures for viewing. any feedback would be appreciated. thanks

Any chance he/she was running into anything, rocks, aquascaping? I know my tang likes to squeeze itself into tight spaces, so it may be abrasions from scrapping against rocks. Keep any eye on it. It is definitely good that the fish is still eating. It also may be a bacterial infection of some sort, so you may want to get some anti-bacterial treatment just in case. Keep us posted on its health

I can't tell much from your pictures, but naso tangs exhibit "stress" spots during lighting changes or when nervous. If your fish is constantly displaying this coloration, I would try to reduce anything in the environment that might be causing chronic stress.

thanks I don't think it is abrasions. he was clean from the store and then developed these marks. they haven't changed much in 3-4 weeks. they don't get better or worse. I don't think it is stress. he's in a 92 gallon quarantine tank by himself. If it was a bacterial infection wouldn't it get worse over time? I am stumped.

I had my tangs do that when I ran out of nori. I was lazy and it took alittle while for me to get more. As soon as I gave them nori the spots were gone in 24hr. Are you regularly feeding nori?
