tang eating clam mantle

It's hard to say if it will stop or not.
I have a hippo that picked on my clams alot for months but seems to have stopped now for some reason.
At first I tried moving the clam to a place where the hippo usually doesnt go but dunno if that helped as it still picked on it but less than before.
I saw your tank but can't remember if you had some of that caulerpa in the tank or just the sump.
I would try putting some caulerpa on a lettuce clip or somewhere in the tank for the tang to pick on. My tangs love it and maybe it will forget about the clam.
I can't say why my hippo stopped picking on the clam. Maybe cuz it was smaller then but havent seen it pick on the clam for months now.
I mean the caulerpa not the chaeto you have. Mine won't eat chaeto.
