tang for a 75 gallon

A lot of the tangs out there are not going to be suitable for a 75 gallon tank. The fish may be ok as a juvenile but as they mature they will quickly outgrow it. There is a sticky in the "Reef Fishes" forum that recommends these tangs for a 75:

Atlantic Blue Tang, Powder Brown Tang, Whitecheek Surgeonfish, Mimic Surgeonfish, Convict Surgeonfish, Indian Mimic Surgeonfish, Kole's Tang, Yellow Tang, Brown Tang

Note: 75 is listed as the minimum tank size and not necessarily optimal. If I were you I would go with a Yellow Tang or Tomini Tang. It should also be noted that with a question like this you are going to get a LOT of different opinions. IMO it would be best to take all the recommendations that you get here, research the fish, see if your tank is suitable (i.e. swimming room, overcrowding, etc), and make a decision that you (and your fish) will be happy with.

Here is the Tang sticky thread that recommended those tangs:

Taken today

Depends on how long. I have a Juvi Naso, Adult Yellow and am taking a Juvi Hippo Tang tomorrow in my 75. My 125 will be set up in Feb tho.

I wouldn't normally take the Hippo until I had the 125, but another reefer is taking it down and I know it's a better home that most others.

I agree with the yellow tang. I have one and when all of the other fish are in the rocks he is out in the open, a very likeable fish.
