tang gulping air

just wondering if anyone might know why this one tang likes to go to the surface and gulp air? i picked up this lieutenant about 6 months ago,and its done that ever since.seems healthy and has good colors

My guess would be its eating food off the water surface i know my Vlamingi will make a loud snapping noise when its eating flakes from the surface

this was one of my first thoughts but now i dont think so. this will go on all day off and on,and then some days i dont see him do this at all. and its always in this one particular corner of the tank. some sort of ocd.lol
