Tang has scar or disease?

That's how I got him. Was wondering if something I should l be worried about? He's healthy and eats fine. If it is a scar would it heal?

I thought lateral line is across its body on the lateral line. I think thats hole in the head and needs a better diet to correct it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks like the beginnings of lateral line to me. I would try soaking your fish food in vitamins. I recall a thread where the poster reported good results after soaking his fish food in Selcon one day, Zoecon the next, rinse & repeat. I think it took about a year to bring a badly damaged Tang back. Much worse than yours.

Hole in the head and lateral line disease are one in the same. You're right the first intervention is to enhance the diet, next would be make sure water quality is good, lastly but not in this case, some say stray voltage can cause LLD.
