very easy to grow, and tangs love it.... they just eat it too fast.
so it must be kept in a fuge. most local lfs can get it for you. if you wait a few weeks, i can give you some free after i let it grow out and stop using it as tang food.
My sump has my ASM skimmer in it so I wasnt sure if that would work. I was debating buying some and trying to grow it in a separate 20gal system just for it, if putting it in my sump with skimmer is inappropriate.
It's graciliaria. Tangs do love it and they look like they are sucking down spaghetti when they eat it.
I've found it grows best if it can "tumble" in the tank. Think of a front loading clothes washer. I had one tank that would grow it like crazy, but since taking that down I haven't had as much luck. Some people never get it to grow.
If you can get some from Trottie or another local source, I recommend doing so to see if you can grow it. It's an expensive meal if you're unable to grow it.
