Hello

I got this guy when he was about the size of a quarter and malnourished... Was supposed to be a Pacific Tang but has never gotten to look like one....

Any help??

It reminds me of a Lieutenant Tang (Acanthurus tennenti).

It reminds me of a Lieutenant Tang (Acanthurus tennenti).

It's not a Tenneti because it doesn't have the two black lines near the forehead, it looks like a ringtail tang.

It's a acanthurus chirurgus commonly called doctor fish, or that's my best guess from the picture anyway.

Thanks for the help.... I think Starkii is the closest from the pictures I find on web... The lines are what are making me think so as he has more lines than spots.... Although possibly a mutant breed..lol

The pics on the Web tend to show more mature specimens (going by Google when I type it in), and yours looks still to be small going by the clown in the picture. The only one I have ever seen in the flesh was a foot long but very similar to yours in terms of banding.
