thats the conclusion im coming up with as well. i guess we will see over time if it changes like the dussimer tang

Does it have a White ring around the tail ? Could be a Ring Tail Tang (Acanthurus blochii) i have one similar to yours that i bought as an Atlantic Blue , but hes far from that.

It's a Juv. dussumieri tang, if you could seem the color of it's tail, which should be purple and have spot, you would be able to id it better. I have a very large one 14"+, and also as small Juv. about 4", and they don't start to fully color up, in the lines on body, face, and tail, until they get about 10"+. They come in from time to time with the wrong name, like a lavender tang, and sell for cheap. If they're probably id a small one will go for about $100+
