Tang Itching no spots!

My blue tang was in a qt with copper for 4 WEEKS after purchase. He was put in to main display saturday and he has been itching on rocks. Tonight he has not been itching as much but what could this be from? Could he possibly get ich after copper for 4 weeks? what should I do?

What is in your display? You may have dropped him right in a tank with ich?

2 maroon clowns 9 green chromis. No sign of ich before addition.

How much scratching? Mine brushes around occasionally, and they like to try and wedge themselves in places. If you just dropped him in, he may be trying to figure out where he fits, and where he doesnt.
If its all the time, you might want to watch it.

In my experience, I've found that using an antibiotic for a week after you complete the copper will help. It helps them to regenerate their slime coat and to deal with secondary bacterial infections and skin irritation from the copper treatment.
