tang question

IMO it would be better to add them both at the same time. One won't have a territory claim yet so you have a better chance of one not stressing the other out.

Are these going into your new tank (set up 4-10-07)?

i added a yellow tang to my tank with a powder blue and the powder blue chased the yellow tang around for a first day but everything settled down the next day, tangs are more aggressive to other tangs that are the same shape. there probably still be some aggression at first even if you add both at the same time, you can try putting a piece of nori to distract them.

I would put them in at the same time. Only exception might be something like the sohal or clown tangs since they are really aggresive and even put in last at a 2" one may rule the tank :D

yes they are going into the tank i just started but not for awhile, i just wanted to see if i should add them both at the same time when it comes time, don't worry ive done lots of research and know not to add anything till my tank has cycled

I did the opposite. I had my yellow for two months before adding the powder blue. There was never any kind of territorial issues. But I agree. Add them both at the same time.

I added my three tangs separately. They are a Naso, Sailfin and Regal. However, my tank is a 225 gallon with lots of room. Also, being that one of yours will be a powder blue, I agree with the above advice to add them together. The powder is supposed to be very ick prone. My 2 cent worth!
