Tang selection for 180?

So I have a 180 and I have a yellow tang and a powder blue in already. I'd like to get 2 more tangs....like a square tail (or white tail if I could find one) and a lieutenant tang. My question would be is it possible that the powder blue and lieutenant could coexist in my tank? The powder blue has not been aggressive at all, it would prob be the yellow I'd be more concerned with, but I know the PB and lieutenant tang are both acanthuras...do you guys think it could be possible? I'd really like a lieutenant tang...they're awesome fish.

I don't really think I can put anything bigger in a 180, that's why I was thinking a bristle tooth tang, like a square tail, and a other acanthuras like a lieutenant or a lavender tang (they all stay under 10 inches).

If I went bigger I would be in the hippo, naso, chevron category and I'm not comfortable putting such a big tang in my tank. I don't like the idea of trading in fish so id like something that could live out its life in my tank.

My recommendation was to get tangs that you listed in your first post. If you make sure they are larger in size you minimize chance of aggression from your established tangs. For example a white tail bristle tooth tang that's bigger in size than your PB would stand a chance of surviving. A smaller one would probably not.

Oooh ok I see what you're saying. I'd have to get full adult tangs then, which might not be impossible, just a little difficult to find.

Yea, you have two already aggressive tangs in a tank together. Anything you get will have to be able to hold its own or will suffer. If you have a hard time finding larger ones is relocating the two you currently have an option until your new ones settle in?

I wouldn't find temporary homes for them, I don't really trust anyone when it comes to QT and fish health. I'd be worried that they would come back with something (and QTing them when I get them back would just drive me nuts). The one thing I have on my side right now is that I just transferred all the fish to a 180 from a 125 so they arent really "at home" yet I guess you could say. I was going to pick them up in about 3 weeks and put them through 5 weeks of QT and put them in...My other thought was adding 2 more at the same time would split the aggression and hopefully help settle things down.

would using a large acclimation box help things out at all or no?

I'd say just stick with the two you have.

We have 4 tangs in a 470 and still see some aggression. Trying to decided IF I can add 2-3 more. I think it might be on the razors edge.

2 in a 180 is quite light...I had 3 in a 125. Adding a bristle tooth I don't think would be a problem I was more asking about the 2 acanthuras
