tangs compatibility

I don't want to go into tank size or feeding or any of that please, just know that when the time comes it will be moved to a much larger tank.

Will a clown tang, sailfin tang, hippo tang, and brown tang all work together? The biggest is the sailfin at 5-6 inches, all others are smaller and the clown is about 3 inches too.

I'm tryig to do my research and I know about the mortality rates, but I can't seem to find anywhere that says if this particular group would work.

if your tank is 120 gallon no the smaller the tank the more aggressive the clown tang will be but if your planning on upgrading then yes if you could introduce them all at the same time even better but be advised that clown tangs can be extremely aggressive and possibly not let you introduce any more fish after he's in the tank

As much as I like the clown, the more I think I shouldn't. Yes it is the 120 for now. I've started collecting material for a plywood build though, somewhere in the 5-700 gallon range when done.
I keep reading about the aggressive issues. Right now I have a peaceful tank with no bullies, I would rather not change that up. If it would work for say a year, then move to the larger tank and be good win that size tank and not overly aggressive, I would really like to though. Beautiful fish.

i would wait till you trully upgrade if you go the 600 gallon route that would be nice but a 4 foot tank is way to small for that fish even a 6 ft 180 is to tigh they require a lot of swimming room i have a sohal right now in a 8 ft 240 by it's self and even that is way to small for him i've tried to add other fish in the past he would slash em all up so you have a lot of thinking to do

Honestly, none of those fish are all that rare, I would just wait until you have your "big" tank built -- will be a lot less stressful on the fish and you.

Good call.

If you really want to do it, then skip the clown and do the other three. The 2 I would be most worried about together would be the 2 acanthurus, most likely one would win. The other 2 shouldn't cause any problems.

I was wrong on the sohal, it is a scopas. I have two zebrasoma, the scopas and sailfin.

Also not that it matters much but the 120 is 5 feet long.
