tangs scratching

How frequent is the scratching? Also, how long have you had them, and have you added any new livestock lately?

oh more good news....great!!!! ive had them about three weeks. havent added anything new. any medicaton recomendations

Move to a QT and uae hyposalinity for 4-6 weeks. I try to avoid medicine as much as possible, especially the more harsh like copper treatments.

Flukes are also a possiblilty if you don't see anything. Prazipro is what I have used before and it worked. One store in my area always has fish that come with flukes it seems.........now that I have learned this I won't buy again.

Do a search on it, there is a big thread about flukes and prazipro.

my hippo and yellow tang are scratching on the rocks and sand is this normal, or is ich coming

Maybe they have crabs?

check for little white dots that look like chicken pox. if in fact there are white dots, then take em outta that take and do ^ all that stuff. salt works good and raising temperature will speed the cycle of free floaters

Best things for the most common flukes is a simple fresh water dip for 1 to 5 minutes. Needs to be dechlorinated, aerated, and matched to tank temp with a pH over 7. If flukes are present, they will turn opaque and drop off, making the dip container look like a snow globe. If there are no flukes, you will have least eliminated that possibility.

the ich has cleared up!!! i raised my temp to 84 and treated with rid ich. it cleared up in two days. still treating for a couple more days. Thank to all!!!!
