Tangs with small bumps

No, I understand. My repsonse was in regard to the Yellow Tang and whether or not it was Lymphocystis. My Blue Tang I know for sure that that isn't what it is. Still up in the air on my guy.
But the YT, definitely don't think it's Lympho or Tang Tubellarian as I mentioned above.

The secondary infection is an interesting thought, though. But black spots not having developed on the YT in the first place would seem to rule out TT. But then again I'm not entirely sure if black spots always appear anyways.
:S

Yes JHemdel it does get very confusing when someone hijacks a post.

lj you shouldnt dose your tank with antibiotics. I really think that it is Lymphocystis if it is using antibiotics will not help at all. All of the signs point to it.

by the way you CAN treat this with vitamins and garlic the tang will come around. It is just a viral infection and once it clears he will be just fine.

This is not looking like signs of a bacterial problem!! Most if not all bacterial problems will show signs of red streaks or spots around the infected area and then into possible white or black spots depending on the infection. I would NOT treat for bacterial problem. Even if it is a bacterial problem you will have to know wheater it is a gram-negative or gram-positive problem. If the Fish looks fine and is acting normal dont go to any extream measures you will cause more stress and weaken his already surrering immune system. Dont take him out yet!! Monitor his movements and eating. Feed plenty or garlic and see if he will come around. If not pm me and we can dig deeper into this problem. This is the best advice that I can give you with out being there and not seeing he movenents and eating habbits. I have experienced this in the past. Have patience as long as the fish looks to be happy lets try to treat him the old fashion way with out meds.

Keep an eye on the other fish in the tank to see if it spreads. It will only spread to fish that donot have a good immune system (healthy) fish will be fine and not catch the infection.

odyssey...thanks so much for the input!!!

As far as vitamins, I make my own food that includes selco and viti-chem does freezing the mix reduce the effectiveness of the vitamins? I include a good amount of spiralina flakes and a fresh seafood mix. Should I soak the food in fresh selco & viti-chem?

This is great!! you can freeze it for a small amout of time 3 mo. max. You should try buying garlic cloves from the grocery store and cutting them into small pieces and smashing them and mixing that into your food. Garlic is a great suppliment for fish. expecially pure garlic!!
