Setting up a 180 gallon reef.How many yellow and purple tangs can i put in at the same time.I heard groups of 3's?? So 2 yellows and a purple, would this be ok???

2 yellow tangs in a tank this size will not work out more times than it works. The group of 3 theory is hogwash in my opinion. Do you think fish really sit there and go...1...2...3, ok there's 3 of us, that's an odd number so we are happy. Or...1...2...3...4...we're in an even number! WAR TIME!!!
I think the premise behind this theory is that you overcrowd them so the stress is spread out. Tangs aren't the fish you want to 'manage stress'. They should be stress free! In my opinion, you'd be better off attempting 1 yellow and 1 purple simultaneously with the lights out after a proper qt period.
