Tangs

No problem. I loved the black tangs as well. How unusual!! I really found them graceful, but the Naso was my favorite. I did see a really nice Blue Hippo today. Does anyone have opinions on them? It was about 2-3incehs long and had been in the store for about 6 weeks. I noticed it had exactly one piece of ich on it and a tiny little piece of fuzz on the side, but he was eating and seemed extremely healthy and lively. What do you think?

maybe see if he can hold him for you? I know he has a lot of blue tangs so maybe you could find another one.

I saw the black tangs that were $450 it said they were sold. I honestly didn't care for them too much, but I guess they are pretty rare and that's what some people like.

never crossed my mind to spend $450 on a fish no matter what it looks like. Way too much money. I would rather spend that on a new tank, or at least a down payment towards a new tank. The more a fish costs, the more likely it is to die. Just something to think about as $450 would cause a few night on the couch from my wife.

Here's one that I think is pretty cool that I saw for sale on LiveAquaria

Some people call them ich magnets. Mine has done quite well and grown quite a bit though. They do like to hide.

Here's Japo, my White Faced Tang. He's strictly a vegetarian and a little bit smaller than Ellen.

Ellen is the Blue tang? How ever did you come up with that name? :D

A lot of people say that they are ich magnets but like any other fish if you quarantine properly you shouldn't have a problem with it.

My wife really wants a hippo as well even though I've been trying to con her into liking something else. Either way I'm sure that will probably be the next fish in my tank.

Their are tons of beatiful tangs out there. Some of my favorites are: achilles, Powder Brown, Powder Blue, Lavender, Clown That's prob. my top 5 anyway. :D

I am really intersted in the Blue Hippo right now and the Naso (not the big one). Of those two, which would be easier. I have already succesfully been taking care of a Moorish Idol for about two months, would it be more sensitive than that fish?

Idols are some of the toughest to care for,or so I hear. Achilles and Powder Blue are two of my favorites.

I love my Idol. She is actually doing quite well. I feed her all kinds of different foods and try to feed her live food (polyps and macroalgae) whenever I can afford. I am highly considering a blue hippo with a neon blue goby. I just hope that neon blue wouldn't be eaten by my puffer.
