im trying to figure out exactly what fish will be going into my 125g in a few months when i move... right now i have a pair of maroons, a firefish, and a watchman goby...... i was thinking about adding a few tangs but not totally sure....ive herd of some tangs not being totally reef safe and just want to do all i can to not end up with one of these .... i was thinking maybe a sailfin and a naso...what do you guys think?? any better suggestions??

Most tangs if not all are pretty much reef safe. The original owner of my Sailfin said that it picked his Crocea clam occasionally, but in my tank he hasn't touched a thing other than algae growing on oveflows or rocks or something. I've learned to trust my sailfin in my tank with being totally reef safe.

tangs are reef safe... I've got a regal(blue hippo), yellow, achilles, and a sailfin in my 300 no problems and i've got clams, lps, sps and softies.

Sorry for the delay, I've been surfing the AVSforums cheating on my RC mistress :p

I've just got the sailfin, and the tank is only 4', so it's suggested to only really keep them in a 6' long tank, but meh, it does fine. Most of the guys on here have more than 1 tang, if not a few.

The Juvie tangs are fine when you put them in. The problem is the tank size for what he will be in size. Tangs can grow up to be 2 feet long.
