Tank at work, what do you do for water?

Hi my name is Gerard and I have multi-tank syndrome

anyway .. I'm in the process of setting up a 20Gal tank at work and got to wondering, what do you guys do for water change water and topoff water at work? I was thinking maybe get those round 5Gal water jugs they sell at lowes/home depot, but they won't sell me any empty ones..
And how do you store any water if any at the office? I figure it would be convenient if I store take 5 gallons of premixed salt water from home for 2 weeks worth of water changes .. I think I may need up to 3 gallons for topoff too..

Any input would be appreciated ..

do you have any water stores near you? Like watermart, or water and ice? Those places will sell you the jugs empty (or you can just buy 5 gallons of ro water right there and keep that for topoff)

Yes, buying the full ones is an option, i need 4 of the 5 gallon ones for the initial fillup, i think i can take two back and get the deposit back on those, keep the other two, one for change water and one for topoff or something ..

ya, or you could just keep them lol. They're really really handy around the house (for tanks). I've got one and i need some more (so you could just send me your unused ones..."hint, hint! Nudge, nudge! lol jk)

I bought 5 gallon jugs at safeway. They have the kind with threaded caps not the molded plastic ones. Easier for reusing them that way.

lol i used to have 2 5gal jugs used for RO storage for top off, but i found myself going to the LWS every 2 weeks.... so then i bought 3 more and a 5gal bucket (for saltmixing) and now i go every 2 months. its great

whole foods also sells jubs, like 18$ for a 5g jug though... 30cents a gallon for the water.

lol ya i here you Do you guys have frys marketplaces over there? (i dont know where you're at, but i'm guessing not arizona lol) They sell them there too but for like 7 or 8 bucks. They're got the screw on cap that is reusable, and you can actually add a bunch of attachments to it. I'm thinking of riggin up the spout attachment for it so that i can just have my topoff go thru that

those the electronic stores? we just got 1 in atlanta. 2 actually now I think.

nice stores. shady business practices though. but they do sell alot of things you cant get anywhere else.

no fry's food and marketplace lol. We got the electronic stores too But i agree, they do sell some weird (and interesting) stuff there. (the electronics place i mean...not the grocery store lol)

I've found the 5 Gallon water bottles at Meijer, they have screw on caps and were $10 a piece, not too bad..
ofcourse I only found them AFTER going to Dick's sporting goods and buying 4 collapsable 5 gallon water containers, we'll see how those work out

I didn't even think of using a gas can! guess I didn't associate it with storing water, wonder if people at the office will wonder if I carry a gas can in every week
