Tank Breakdown Part II: Fish For Sale

Alright, now that all of the corals have been taken care of, I'm ready to re-home my fish.

Mind you, these aren't your typical fish... I've quarantined and treated ALL of my fish (they went through a copper/prazipro treatment in a QT before going into my display tank). I also have not added a fish in the last year+, all eat pellets, and everyone but the Potter's Angel eats frozen.

I've kept them all in a mixed reef (SPS/LPS/Clams/Zoas) and I haven't had any problems at all, but that might have to do with the fact that I feed them 3-4 times daily.

So here's what I have and how much I was looking to get for each.

> Moorish Idol: $100; this is my baby. I got him when he was a just a juvenile and have had him over 2 years. If there's food in the tank, he'll eat it and he won't let other fish intimidate him, but is not a bully. I know there will be significant interest in him, and just to give you a heads up, he might already be taken (currently talking to someone about him).
> Potter's Dwarf Angel: $50; nice and fat, great coloring, and loves him some pellets. Won't eat frozen for some reason, but is always pecking at the rocks and will never leave a pellet uneaten.
> Powder Blue Tang: $50; also a huge pig, and is a really nice size. I haven't added any fish after him, so I don't know how he treats newcomers, but isn't really a bully to the other tank residents. Will occasionally chase, but not for long.
> Harlequin Tusk: $50; I don't believe he is the more colorful Australian variety, but still stunning. He WILL eat any shrimp you have, so maybe not the best fit unless you're willing to part with any resident shrimp.
> Sunburst/Fathead Anthias: $40; great coloration and adds nice coloration to the middle water column of the tank.
> Yellow Long-nose Butterfly: $30; not sure why people think these aren't reefsafe. I've had two in two different mixed-reef tanks and not one problem. I love the different look that they give a tank.
> Starry Blenny: $10; comical fish that will eat some algae, but mostly eats pellets and some frozen
> Melanurus Wrasse: $10; beautiful fish, but will also eat your shrimp.
> Yellow-Tail Damsel (Chrysiptera parasema): free with purchase of any fish; this is not the aggressive type. Is not territorial at all and has not bothered any of my fish, including my mild mannered anthias. Most beautiful blue fish out there.

With that being said, I care A LOT for these fish, and won't sell to just anyone looking for a fish (especially the more "advanced fish"). So if you're interested in any of them, please PM me your tank profile/husbandry habits like how much you feed, and anything else you feel will be helpful for me to determine where these fish are going.

Thanks,

-Chad

I've already received some interest, and had some asking for approximate sizes. I'd say most of them are about adult sizes (in the aquaria).

Size of each fish:
> Moorish Idol: about 5 inches from nose to tailfin
> Powder Blue Tang: about 6 inches
> Yellow longnose Butterfly: about 5 1/2 inches
> Potter's Angel: between 3 1/2 and 4 inches
> Melanurus Wrasse: about 5 inches
> Sunburst/Fathead Anthias: about 3 1/2 inches
> Harlequin Tuskfish: about 5 1/2 inches
> Starry Blenny: about 5 1/2 inches
> Yellow-tail Damsel: about 1 1/2 inches

Also, forgot to add...

Located in Mission Viejo (south Orange County).

All PMs responded to, but they're coming fast and furious, so I'll try my best to stay on top of them.

Also, if possible, I'm trying to schedule the fish pick-up for next Saturday, so as to reduce the stress to the fish as much as possible (and me too... hahaha).

Thanks,

Chad

Good luck Chad! I'd take the fathead in a heartbeat if you could ship ground and it'd get to me next day for cheap. I'm heading back from SD today but unfortunately I head back on 15 to my location and not 5/405. If we can work something out text me I'll pm you my number

Quick update...

The following fish are pending sale/pick up next Saturday:

> Moorish Idol
> Potter's Angel
> Yellow Longnose Butterfly
> Harlequin Tuskfish
> Starry Blenny

I have some significant interest in the Sunburst Anthias and the Powder Blue Tang that I'm trying to sort through, so I'll let everyone know soon that has inquired about those fish.

Still trying to find a home for the Melanurus Wrasse and Yellow-tail Damselfish. I'm still going through my PM's, so I'll see if there's any interest there.

Thanks,

Chad

Also, as for the Sunburst Anthias and Powder Blue tang, although I will try to be fair, I am also looking for the best new environment, so just because I'm getting interest shouldn't stop other people that feel they would be able to take care of them from inquiring.

So please PM me if interested in any remaining fish not already pending.

Thanks,

Chad

Rik I can pick up for you and meet you in Santa Clarita .

Thanks for everyone who's shown interest. I'll let everyone know the final tally as soon as possible (probably tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest), for pick-up on Saturday.

If anyone else wants to throw their names in for the fish not pending, please PM me.

Thanks again,

Chad

***UPDATE***

> Moorish Idol- PENDING
> Yellow Longnose Butterfly- PENDING
> Potters Angel- PENDING
> Harlequin Tusk- PENDING
> Sunburst Anthias- PENDING
> Melanurus Wrasse- PENDING

STILL AVAILABLE:

> Starry Blenny
> Yellow Tail Damsel (again, not aggressive- look up "Chrysiptera parasema" and you'll see this to be a very social damsel)
> Powder Blue Tang- one of the healthiest PBT you'll find out there. Not a bully (at least to my fish) although he would occasionally chase the MI here and there when they grazed the rock too closely.

Please PM me if you're interested in any of the "non-pending" fish, and please include your tank profile and feeding regimen.

I have a few people interested, but I want to make sure I find the best home possible for each fish.

Thanks,

Chad
