Tank-bred Ocellaris Clownfish

I am thinking about getting two tank-bred Ocellaris clowns in hopes that they will form a mated pair. This leads me to a couple of questions:

1. Is there any significant difference between the ones bred in Asia, Europe, or the USA?

2. Since these clowns are small, can I assume that they are young and not sexually mature?

Thanks.

matrix,

Thank you for contacting us with your questions. The USA-ORA tank bred Ocellaris Clownfish tend to be a bit larger than the others, and may have slightly darker orange coloration. Their coloration is closer to the wild harvested Ocellaris. You are correct they are not sexually mature when they are shipped. They are great additions to any aquarium as they are fun to watch and have their own personality.

It's funny, when I bought my ocellaris, I asked the difference between the USA and the Asian ( I think) tank bred.

The response was: well, one's bred in the US and the other's bred in Asia!

Dickhordishay,

Thank you for your post. We apologize for any confusion generated in a previous response. In general the difference for tank bred specimens is the location they are sourced from. However, when we quote for a specific specimen there may be more exact differences, such as for the tank-bred Ocellaris.

Well, it wasn't a previous response on here, but one from the operator with whom I spoke to.
It's really no big deal, and the operator was more than helpful in ordering my fish for several days in advance (for when I would be home).
The clownfish are doing well, just a little dominance fight here and there!
