Tank crashed/crashing need advice

We went out of town for a wedding, someone was supposed to take care of the fish. Still not sure what happened, but we came home to a dead fish, a dead starfish, dead anemone, and possibly dead corals. We have 2 clown fish that are still alive, but of course everywhere with RODI water is closed on Sunday evening.

I just bought a bunch of distilled water, and used all the marine salt I had left to make 2 gallons of water. Can anyone sell me some RODI water right now? Or take my fish and corals temporarily while I set my tank back up? -or- any advice on anything else we can do?

I also bought some free runing salt, I'm pretty sure I shouldn't use it, but I figured for a dollar I'd pick some up while I was buying distilled water.

Any help or advice?

the wegmans in our area have culligan water machines they are r.o. do the lagest water change you can and run carbon. i know its a drive but the reefs edge has salt if you cant get some close by

I went ahead and used the distilled water. The Reef's Edge is about an hour away, and they're closed on Sunday, but thanks for the tip. I forget sometimes how large the "Southern tier" is.

It's a 29 gallon, so I wouldn't have needed much. Sorry for the late reply, I was out buying things to fix this mess. I found marine salt at wal mart (I was surprised) and used distilled water to do a change. Thanks for the reply, Dave.

I guess I'll be buying a bucket of crystals tomorrow, some RODI, and hoping for the best.

I also think I found the culprit, I think I may have forgotten to leave the AC on while we were gone......

Sorry for your loses! Let me know if you need any help. I have RO/DI water you can have & extra tanks set up. Also, I think Natures Best still has Salt Buckets for $40. Not sure if they are open on Mondays or not.

They open at 11, and I'm gonna go do some water changes on my lunch break.

Thanks for the offers! I have an empty tank, but I thought that might be more dangerous than changing out the water they're in now. Stressing the fish further, possible cycling. Maybe it's better than what I'm doing now though.

In the future, Wise has water machines and most are 24x7.

Yep, water wound up not being the problem, it was that I only had enough salt for 2 gallons of water.

I think I wasn't as clear as I could have been, actually downright misdirecting.

Thanks for the tip, though! I've got PLENTY of salt now.
