Tank crashed...ugh

I built a new tank and switched everything over to the new tank. I used most of the water from the old system. Most of my corals have RTN over that last few days. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe huge alk swing that I didn't expect. Some are hanging on for dear life. Super bummed. At least the new tank came together nicely. Time to start over. :headwally:

Perhaps a nitrate spike from moving everything around? Does the tank smell "fishy"

No everything smelled like fresh sea water. I think it was an alk swing. Maybe from disturbing the sand bed. I didn't check dkh the day of the move though so I'm not positive.

Bummer stirring up the sand bed isnt good if it's a deep one. Why I have always cycled new tank before a transfer

I'm afraid I won't be getting any new livestock for a while. I'm going to focus on getting the new tank dialed in. It is a true test of tolerance for the acros I have. My wild hyacinthus has surprisingly hung in there.
