Tank crashed...

If the windex *was* the problem here, it was not the ammonia concentration in it, but rather either the gylcols or isopropanol. Assuming Windex has an amonia concentration of 5% (and some products don't have any ammonia in them at all). A full spray from a bottle gives .2ml (I checked). If you sprayed a full spray directly into a 2.5 gallon tank, the resulting ammonia-nitrogen level would only be on the order of 1ppm. (2.5 gallons x 1ppm / 266 = .01 grams - or the estimated amount of ammonia in .2ml of a 5% solution)

My understanding was that this person sprayed onto a cloth and then cleaned the tank - therefore the amount that could have possible entered the tank would be much, much less.

What we have here is simply a coincidence.....
