tank die off

I am literally sick to my stomach as I write this.

I purchased a Complete 210FOWLR from another RC member 3 weeks ago. Here is what survived the trip.

Live stock
x large valmingi tang
x large freckeled tang
large squirrel fish
4 yellow tangs
large crosshatch trigger (male)
2 butterfly

The Livestock was transported in 55 gallon barrels for about 10-12 hours and were housed in a friends system for 10 days while everything settled in the transported 210. We moved the livestock into the 210 Tuesday of last week, and everyhing appeared fine for about a week other than what appeared to be a little ICH. all were eating and active.

My Friends tank suffered a die off last week shortly after moving the livestock from his system.

Wednesday evening of this week, I noticed the color on the squirrel fish was a little off.
Thursday, some of the fish stopped eating and were breathing rapidly.
It was suggested that we use Hypo Salinity. We took the salinity down to 1.011.

We have two seperate tanks set up for treatment, and neither is working
Short freshwater dip followed by placement in one of the two tanks.

1. Quinine

2. Acrifalvine

No survivors so far to either treatment.

Saturday morning, No one is eating. Tried using Kents Garlic extract to encoutrage eating. Worked A little Friday, No-One is eating today.

Of those already Dead I am seeing the following.

The Clowns were covered in a white mucas.

The Groupers and others, scales were covered in Brown specks and the skin turned black in areas around the eyes, stomach and mouth.

I am currently running the 210 off a 100 gallon sump with a 40W UV, and ASMG6 Skimmer. The 180 is connected to the same sump, But we shut the 180 off for now.

I have something similar going on with 2 fish on Thursday. Heavy slime,cloudy eye,specks. Seemed to come out of nowhere,no new additions, good water etc.Couldn't figure if it was velvet or brooklynella and/or some ich. Labored breathing and rapid infestation.FWIW I treated with a 45 minute formalin bath. QTd with copper sulfate and formalin. The two fish are doing much better today.Still don't know waht this is or hopefully was.

Sorry busy day ,just got back on line. Don't know where Vestal is but most marine shops should have it . It 's a relatively common medication, even for freshwater. Failing that perhaps machalite green might be of help. Haven't used this and don't know if it works ok with copper but, I've read it might be effective.Formalin is a formaldehyde solution. There are several products that contain it in either a 37% or 3% solution. I use Formalin 3 which is a 3% solution . For a bath it takes a gallon of tank water and a small powerhead for aeration in a bucket with 10ml ( 2 tsps) of the 3% solution(obviously the 37% solution would only take about a twelfth or that or less than 1 ml. .The duration is 45 to 50 minutes.
After the bath the qt tank can be treated with 1 ml per gallon,no carbon.

I tried a methylene blue freshwater bath, as suggested by the Disease, Health and Wellness - by Kelly Jedlicki forum on Marinedepot.com, to the CrossHatch and Vlemengi,

2 more causualties to report.
The Speckled died last evening
The Vlamangi did not survive his Methylene blue freshwater bath. His first and only freshwater dip.

Only 4 remain
Crosshatch in the Quinine Quarantine tank.

3 remain in the 210, I just can not seem to get these guys out.

I plan on tearing my 210 apart to get the last three fish out this evening, and waiting a minimum of 8 weeks before putting any more livestock into the tank.
