I've decided to have a custom glass tank made for my new mantis shrimp tank project. I've bought nothing but standard sized tanks and I don't feel like doing it again.
When housing a mantis shrimp in general, what is to be considered when choosing dimensions? It sounds like shallow water isn't an issue and that a good length would be prefered because of how much they tend to roam from thier crevice, but what about width?
I'm thinking I'd like to go with either N. wennrea, G. smithii, or something similar. How does 30"L x 12.5"W x 10"T sound? It's approximately 15.5G w/the footprint of a 20G Long.
This is just and uneducated idea of a good size. What are your opinions?
Thanks,
Dave
