Tank Dreaming

Simple question. Can a tank be built in a configuration like this? The hope would be to have an open top frameless design. 3 metal halide pendants would be suspended above for lighting.

If so, how does one begin to determine where and how big overflows would be placed.

hey chad, try www.glasscages.com thet custom build and drill. look on the RC home page about halfway down. there is a tank calculator. gallon size determines the flow (gph) as far as placement of bulkheads some choose the floor/footprint some choose the top back and others the sides lower, middle, close to top. its pretty much your call. good luck & REEF-ON!!!

sure can. you would have to look around but there is a tank almost exactly like that posted on this web site some place. i think it is a 1200 gallons system in a wall. same shape and everything.

I saw a tank like that posted once that actually had the two sections seperated with one side being FOWLR and the other side a full blown reef. All plumbed as a continuous tank. It was pretty cool looking.

What are the intended viewable sides? That needs to be known before figuring out where to put the overflows.
