Tank drilling bit question

I have heard the Roto zip tile bit (TC1) works pretty good with cutting through glass. My question is would all I need is that and my dremel and then drill my hole, I wouldnt have to worry about any diamond bits to get the initial cut for the overflow?

You certainly can do it with just a dremel and a roto zip tile bit. I've done it many times. The tip of the bit going straight down (like you are drilling a hole in wood with a regular bit) will make the initial hole through the glass. I've done this on thin glass all the way up to 1/2" glass.
