tank evaporation

I top off a gallon or two a day usually. Seems pretty usual for tanks. Also depends on lighting it seems as my halides really make a difference compared to LEDS or t5's

Evap on my 130 with a 40 gallon sump is 3 gallons a day but my tank is outside in the shed.

54 here, with 30 gallon sump: about a gallon a day. One thing, it means if you decide to drip kalk, you'll have no trouble dripping enough to do some good.

cool so it sounds like I am in the ball park then. I just wanted to make sure more or less it was pretty normal

I go through about 1.5 gallons/day. It really seemed to go up a lot after I switched from the rinky-dink skimmer I was using on my old 55 gallon tank to the SWC skimmer. I don't know if that's the reason, but I'd estimate my evaporation loss about doubled when I made that skimmer switch. It kind of makes sense, I guess...much more water/air interface to allow evaporation.
