I am thinking of getting an octo. I was wondering what species is the easiest to get and what kind of tank set up should I go with. Money is not that much of a concernââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦it is more the space. I was wondering what you all would set up if you were me? Your advice plz.

Hi Troy
If money is no option then I would go for a tank with duel bulkheads and a sump. This will allow you to keep just about any species there is.
Stay away from corner overflows. They limit you in what you can do. With the sump and bulkhead set up you can seal the top up real tight.
Octopuses can squueze their way though any opening bigger than their beak. All octos are very strong and can lift a non secure lid, so the lid should be secure as well.
The only species you can get away with a hang on skimmer is a O.bimaculoides. They are less prone to escape than most other species.
Bimaculoides is the best all around octopus to get and your best choice for a starter octopus.
There is a ton of info on keeping them in this forum just search the back posts. Let us know if you have any more questions and good luck.

Thanks again

A bimac will do fine in a 30 gallon tank or larger. Its always good to go big as you can in case you want to keep a larger species later on down the road.
