Tank for the visually impaired

Sorry, for the confusion andyman -- Fishme is another Andy. He's going to bring a nice sump/filter/skimmer for the school.

This is a wonderful thing you're doing, Dan. I'm willing to donate a 40g plexi with stand and canopy. It has a built in wet/dry, so it's not very wide. Perhaps, that would make things easier for the children to see. Please let me know.

I'd also like to suggest keeping some of the brightly colored starfish, like the orange Fromia or Ruby Serpent Star. I'm sure they'd get a kick out of watching a serpect star crawl everywhere during feeding time;)

Kindest regards,

Karl

Thank you Karl,

I'm really surprised at the generosity everyone has shown. I may have to start a non-profit just to get some of these great tanks into special needs classrooms. But for now I really want to concentrate on getting One tank set-up for my son's class. I also feel I can do a lot more for a single tank since I'll be the one maintaining it for the next few years.

Sounds like a nice upgrade BTW, 40G plexi to a 110g starphire! I'll bet it's gorgeous.

It's nothing special, just more work:p

The 40g is yours for the taking. It's a nice viewing height for kids. Sorry it's not bigger. I rigged the canopy so that you can basically set any 36" light fixture right on top of it.

The only condition I require is that my sons and I get to visit when it's all complete:D

With all the help I'm getting here, I'll have to get the school to host an open house once it is all set up. I'm a terrible aquascaper too so I might have an aquascaping party at some point. Everyone brings a 10lb. piece of LR and helps aquascape! I'll provide the pizza.

You should talk to the owner of aquactic variation on miremonte in mountianview really nice guy who is selling the store because of raised rent he gives lots of stuff to school and would proably donate alot of stuff
