tank height for this light.

Im in the process of thinking about a possible tank upgrade. Currently I have a 20 long with a 24" coralife aqualight pro. 150 hqi xde 10k mh and 2 x 65 watt actinics and 2 x 1 watt moon lights.
The most light demanding life in my 20long is one blue and one gold baby maxima which are on the sandbed a few inches to the left of being directly under the mh bulb. sandbed is 2-3 inches.
What height tank will still be good for this light and still have the max's on the sandbed. I was thinking of an oceanic 58 gallon (36Lx18Wx21H)???
Currently Im using this light fixture with the legs that come with it, which is about 4-5 inches from the water surface on the 20long.

So what would be the max height tank that I can get using this fixture?

I woudn't keep him on the sandbed at that height, but you could get the 58 and put him higher in the rockwork.

I agree you are just about at the limit for light penetration for maxima clams with this fixture. If you went for the 58g, I'd definitely put the clam near the top of the tank. HTH.
