Tank is a Year Old Now!

Someone discovered the glass.

Then hauled tail to the top.

Then someone discovered surface tension! It stayed up there for about 45 minutes before my boyfriend moved it back down to the rock, where it immediately started eating flatworms. It doesn't seem to notice being handled at all.

Needless to say, we haven't seen the nudibranch in a couple days LOL. We added 2 Trochus snails Saturday and they've also promptly disappeared, regardless of their size. Not sure if the snails are hiding or if the huge polyclad is still alive & got to them already. They disappeared overnight Saturday into Sunday. I really need some snails in there, there's some low (probably turf) algae starting to get a really good foothold. Might have to go for another couple of emeralds again, even though they never live long in there for some reason.

At any right, the corals are all doing very well!

The acan is growing by leaps & bounds.

The pagoda is continuing to spread onto the sandbed.

I put the Psammocora on the only flat rock I had because it had already continued to cover the frag.

The chalice is spreading over the sand. I don't have any other place to put it for it to attach to, and it's quite happy on the sand.

The green star polyps finally decided to attach to the neighboring branch on the same rock rather than continue toward the overflow & attach there :(. Oh well, I can always cut the arch & glue it on if I really want to!

The fox coral is doing well, not thriving yet but hopefully that'll come with time.

The cabbage leather is still nuts. It sheds once a week, in discrete sections instead of the entire thing at once since it's so large!

This thing (devil's hand) is huge, would fill both of my hands at least!

The "little" devil's hand would fill the palm of my hand now.

The hammer has had amazing growth. The head on the right still hasn't quite split, but is sure looks like it from the top! Spot loves to hide in the hold behind it & pop out for food.

Zoas are still spreading like crazy. I wonder how long it will take before the entire top of the biggest rock is covered?

This blue mushroom had been cup shaped for months, and suddenly it spread open instead. I love the crop of this pic. :)

Added this Saturday. I've been wanting blue cloves for a long time to fill in the blank spaces since I have no room for anything else in this tank! The zoas were a bonus ;).

And an FTS.

Tank is over 2 years old now. Lots and lots of growth, even just during the past year!

The fuge is half full of dragon's breath & the other half is the algae that showed up on the rock a while back. It grows so fast I just keep pulling it & tossing it in the fuge.

The 2 devil's hands have gotten huge.

Gorgeous tank!!

Softies, zoas...these seem to love your set-up. I have a hard time making them grow in my tank, while SPS thrive in it. I need to adjust my husbandry somehow, shift it a little to favor softies. What would you say makes them grow so well in your tank? Thanks!

Hydnophora. Finally found a large enough flat rock to set it on. Not sure what the hermits' obsession is with this coral, but they hang out around/under it as much as possible.

The 2 candy canes.

The cabbage leather.

The zoa/blue clove rock.
\

Palting, what helps them grow in this tank is what would kill SPS in your tank LOL. Nitrates in this tank run 20 to 30 and I'm sure there's phosphates in there as well (haven't tested for that in a long time).

Fox coral.

Hammer.

Psammocora. Another one I had to put on a flat rock because it was covering the plug.

Green stars. They finally bridged to the other rock branch, now they're starting to reach for the overflow again. Not sure where they'll go next!

Last pic of this acan, as after the first FWE treatment it was hanging by a thread. I assume it got injured during the sucking out of the flatworms, since I noticed the frag plug was moved. My boyfriend moved it to the 20, but it immediately let go & has now disappeared.

Galaxea.

A mushroom getting stung by the galaxea. I'd hoped the process would be faster but this has been going on for over a month LOL.

The chalice. We finally snapped the post of the plug & set it on top of a larger frag plug. It's draping like a tablecloth!

LOL!!! Thanks. Your tank is so gorgeous  , I may just set up another tank to grow the same set of coral!

Some of the mushrooms.

Sponge.

This sponge started out black, then began to grow as a pillar once I moved the mushroom rock it was on under an overhang.

Stupid ball anemones that are still taking over.

Palting, thank you! I love softies, they grow so much so fast that it makes it very satisfying very quickly LOL.

Still have Spot, however she has lost her tail. She showed up with a nub about 2 months ago, and just when it started growing back it's back down to a nub again. Not sure what's going on. All other fins are fine, and the yellow coris wrasse & orbic aren't paying her any attention. I think that she may be burrowing up under the rock or something.
