tank is super murky

just started a tank...

alright so its been 48 hours and i still can't even see the back of my tank

I used the sugar size aragonite, seems like it was SUPER silty.

any advice as to what to do?

should I do a water change?

i just realized i never washed my sand

The cloud will settle. I generally don't wash sand anyway, since the small particles are good for a variety of sandbed animals.

give it 3 or 4 days and it will be fine.

Its a new tank, thats to be expected. It will settle in a couple of days. Keep an eye on the ammonia level, that can cause the tank to be cloudy depending how the tank cycles.

yah ours took prolly 5-6 days to totally settle

If you have a spare HOB filter around, stuff some filter floss in it and the tank will be clear in a couple of hours.

I use the sugar sized sand as well - tank looked like a milk bottle. Added a piece of filter fabric to my refuge overflow and it was crystal clear in the morning.
