Tank leak today

I have a 29 gallon guppy tank, 5 gallons of which are on my rug and dripping into my basement. Seems to be a tank leak, so lucky for me I have other freshwater tanks I was able to move the guppies into and then empty the tank, move it and clean up. Quite a job, but made me think about what would I do if my 150 gallon reef tank suddenly sprung a leak.

Having plenty of buckets and totes on hand would be good, anything else to have in case of fishtank emergency?

Anyone like some free guppies?:fish2:

That's not good.
Large shop vac to pull the water out of the rug & wherever else it may have travelled. Might want to get some of those Sham-Wows to help soak it up.
Pick up a couple spare heaters & power heads for the totes.

^^This^^

I feel your pain.

I believe it's in every reefkeeper's best interest to at least think about what they would do in case of a tank leak. Having a plan in advance (in addition to buckets, totes, powerheads, etc.) to fall back on will help eliminate any rash decision-making in the heat of the emergency. Often times quick decisions result in less desirable outcomes.
