Tank mates for Maroon Pair

I have a 40G reef tank with a couple RBTAs and am getting a breed pair of Maroons (female is about 4-5"), I have kept a breeding pair in the past but in a much bigger tank (180G) and never had any issues with tank mates. This is my first time with such a small tank, should I be happy just with the pair? I also wanted a bottom dweller and maybe a wrasse or something else for some color. Currently the tank is just corals and the anemones as I wanted to get everything situated before getting the maroons. Of course I will add the pair last, if the consences is that I can add other fish for this size tank.

Thanks in advance

I would try some of the larger shrimp gobies.

Sixline wrasses may also work.

In general it need to be fish that are either smart enough to avoid danger or fish that the maroons ignore.

I actually keep a maroon pair with two cleaner shrimp, a Pygmy angel and a bicolour blenny in a 45G without issue... And my female clown is large and aggressive ...
