Well I did it again.I purchased a 90 gallon setup off of craigslist.
the system is complete with fish corals rock etc. Problem I am moving it all in one shot from roanoke to my basement.

I am planning the move either this wed, fri or sat due to the long weekend. I cant fit both the tank and stand in my SUV and I will also have a load of buckets, coolers, and totes.

Anyone able and willing to help on one of these days let me know.
I can offer some free beer, pizza, and corals for those willing to help out.

also the tank had crushed coral substrate, and I was wanting a sand bed.
What kind of sand should i get? Where do I get it? and how much should I get?
He only had a thin layer of the crushed coral, would it be ok to put the sand right over the top?

Maybe you could if you used alot of sand but every time I've tried to just put sand on top of crushed coral it ends up under the coral. My favorite sand is the Carib Sea Black Tahitian Moon sand, it's jet black and I think it looks pretty slick.

I would totally help you move that tank since i have an SUV but unfortunately I'll be home in Northern Virginia for Thanksgiving tues - sun

I should be able to help this tuesday and maybe bring my brother in law to help as well. We have both families comign to BBurg for thanksgiving and they start arriving tuesday night, the brother should be here today. the rest of the week will be hard though with having family in town.

If you do it tuesday give me a PM and ill get in touch with you..
Evan

P.S. Congrats on the new tank, i was so excited for my 75, no i want 180 or 220, damnit this hobby sux.

Jorge,

I may be able to lend a hand...depends on when you get into it. Saturday is OUT for me. Friday is potentially open in the PM. Maybe late Wednesday. I know that I'm being about as solid as an anemone but that's all I got right now.

I am planning on starting the move friday at about Noon in roanoke. Tearing it down loading it up and bringing it home. Hal I will be leaving my house around 10:45 and your help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else available to help just let me know a few extra bodies could make this a lot easier and people familiar with this stuff are a big help.

Bill thinks we can tear it down and load it up in an hour. I think he is overly optimistic but we will see.

Sorry that I couldn't help, just wondered how the move went? So what want are you going to replace or is this another tank set up.

started at noon yesterday and just turned the lights on an hour ago.
Had to go help my boss move this morning. I didn't have the time or energy to clean out the sump, was up till 2 am and had the move this morning. Sump cleaning can wait till next weekend.

Its a 90 with overflow, tall custom oak stand, custom oak canopy with built in lights (finally got some metal halides). Tank stocked with LPS corals, some leathers, tons of really large colony polyps attached to the rocks, fish, and of course a large bubble tip that is home to a mated pair of gold striped maroon clowns. The female has bitten me at least 6 times already.

Its my third tank and went in the basement. I plan on moving things around once things stabalize and I get rid of a lot of colony polyps, Then loading it with SPS, nice LPS, and maybe a clam or two.
I know it was a bad weekend to do this but I had the time and Hal helped get it home.

Anyone wanting colony polyps on large bolders let me know.
