Tank not completely supported?

The silicone is fine on the new tank, no leaks or anything. He just said that it isn't aesthetically pleasing. I will take a close look next week when it gets taken out of his storage and then decide about resealing

I personally would be leery of the "seams not aesthetically pleasing" comment.
Look for cracked and frayed silicone at edges.
Often a tank gets stored, stored outside in sun, silicone dries out and gets crumbly.
For what you just went through and what you are about to put into it, it's just not worth the risk IMO.
Mine was a CL special I picked up before joining here, I had no idea what to look for.
I got lucky and mine was not a complete failure, it just cracked as I was draining it when I realized it was failing and trying to rush into a new tank.
It's heartbreaking to look at your tank looking something like this and then seeing the pic I posted earlier when it fails, all that hard work down the drain.

I will be sure to look for that whenever he gets it out of storage. It has been in a temperature controlled storage if thateans anything. But, I will not be taking any chances with the new tank. If I have any concerns about it, then I will be ordering a brand new tank without question

To the Op, sorry for the hijack, I hope you manage to make your tank/stand safe. Dave, great looking tank, hoping you got/ are getting it back to it's former glory.

No problem at all about the hijack, I got what I needed out of the thread. Glad this community can learn so much from other members!
