But I had to respond right away regarding the comment on my STARVING my Blue Tang. Wow..............hey, I just wanted to share my tank with everyone, that's all. (The Aquarist), I don't think we have met before or spoken online here at Reef Central, but any and everyone who knows me will tell you that no one is more informed on what they have in their reef and no one is more caring of what they have in their reef than me. I thank you for the previous comments, but the later one was off base. In my 9 years as a reefer, I would never do something as immoral or unethical as starving anything. The Blue Tang is 3 inches long or so. I've had it for about 4 months now. This fish is as fat as my index finger. He eats the Cyclop-EEz and Spraydried Marine PhytoPlankton mixers when I feed the corals, he is feed the flake foods, Mysis, brine and 4 other rotations of Algae based foods. And finally he grazes on pieces of algae on the reef all day long. If you are referring to the picture just below the Squamosa clam, what you are seeing is the light from above reflecting off of its body. That fish is as healthy as I am. If he had been starved after 4 months, he would be dead by now. To say that I have allowed the fish to become "emaciated", well, that was a mean dagger. It's the worst thing anyone has ever said to me regarding my reefkeeping in all of my years. An email to me asking about it would have been more appropriate.
No harm done though. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding that could have been handled differently. Thanks again everyone and my apologies for the long response with my thank you.
Safe reefing everyone.
