you had mentioned about magnesium chips???? in the calcium reactor...how do these work and were would I get some from????

Beautiful tank, of course, but also a very nice write-up. I was surprised to read that you clean out your 100 micron filter sock only once per week. How filthy is it at that time? I was always under the impression that they should be cleaned daily. Whatever, it's obviously working for you!

Do you have any pictures of your corals that haven't been edited/corrected so much?
 
hey mike tank looks great,
on the skimming , i also used a mrc double beckett skimmer,
i add a algae turf scrubber 10 months ago, and it out preforms my skimmer, my skimmer has stoped produceing foam. i just scrape my screen weekly, much easer chore than the skimmer. check it out at my gallery.
 
Congrats... Mike. Great article and pics. One of the BEST TOTM article to date. I hope one day my tank will look like yours.
