Tank of the Month

Hey guys! I need a Tank of the Month for our website. I was going to use whoever's tank hosted the meeting each month, but so far we do not have a host for this month. If anyone wants to volunteer their tank for Tank of the Month, or if you want to nominate someone else's tank, please do so here. Thanks.

neuroslicer volunteered for TOTM right after I posted, so I'm going to use neuroslicer for this month. Thanks for the input. Should be getting pics from neuroslicer soon, then I will post on website.

Jay's such a priss. Anything to show off that Coral Thumb of his. Especially with the DIY additives.
BTW Jay. After 1 month of regular maintenance with the DIY additives, my tank is doing fantastic. I can actually see a distinct rim of about 1/4" new growth on my Green Turbinaria!
Now If I get off my arse and get the auto-doser rigged up I won't have to add 2Cups of Ca, Alk, and Mg every day.

Just a question in the wrong place but I figured since you were talking about it, What are you using for DIY additives... I am sure everyone would like to be fortunate enough to have a nicer tank... I hope you won't answer this question by saying 2 cups Ca, ALK, and Mg... then I might feel dumb

If you ask neuroslicer nicely he can probably hook you up with more info than you can ever imagine on the topic ... he probably has a link or too as well .. since he seems to be our local water chemistry buff and DIY guy

Baking soda, epsom salts, and Dowflake (Preston Driveway Heat works, too). The baking soda is for the buffer, epsom salt provides Mg, and the Dowflake provides the calcium. Here's a good link.

We are using Nick's(nam2212) 75 gal for the Tank of the Month. He is hosting the meeting the month. I have a description of his tank posted on our website(written by Nick) - www.wtmrac.org - under the (Tank of the Month) tab. He is sending me pics later, and I will post them with the description when I receive them.
